Deco*licious joins DSN!

That’s right, Deco*licious is now a part of the newest thing to hit SL. Design Showcase Network was set up by the awesome and ingenious: Rika Watanabe and Peter Stindberg.

Basically it unites people with designers and vice versa by way of free promotional items. Best of all, you get to choose what types of stuff you’d like to receive!

How it works: Become a subscriber to DSN by signing up via any kiosk (like the one at Deco*licious) and choosing which channels you’d like to hear from. There are nine channels  including Fashion, Home & Garden and Gadgets & Tools. You can pick just a few or all nine, allowing you the freedom to filter your freebies.

What it all translates to is you getting free promotional material… SWAG!

If you subscribe to the Home & Garden channel, at some point you may receive this special multi colour edition of the Deco*licious Danda Lily bedroom set. It includes all the cute acessories and poses from the existing Danda Lily line, but in a fun new colour combination.

New Location!

So I have a new Mainstore!

I needed to have a teenie bit more control over things like prim limit and store space, so Voila! New mainstore. It’s above my house, (about 1000m up), so if you really wanna jump of the side and roam around, poking through my things, you have every opportunity!

The new store is purrrrddy. If I do say so myself. I got a prefab from the lovely PreFabulous the other day, and decorated with some fun AKEYO landscaping. They’d been sitting in my inventory for like 6 months and I’m So Glad to finally be able to use them!

Anyways, I hope you like it – there’s fishing, so drop by whenever and hang out :)

Danda Lily Bedroom Set

Danda Lily happened when Fukmi Sideways said ‘hey, you wanna use my palette for some furnis’ and my imagination went all crazy-happy-crazy.

The piece that started the set was the wardrobe:

I wanted something solid yet delicate, sturdy but with a bit of whimsy. The flowing, soft lines of the curtains frame the picture well and blend nicely with shapely legs and strong upper curve. Both shapes are reflected in each of the 4 other pieces of this set.

I’m glad I got to work with fukmi’s colours. She’s a real inspiration. In fact, I have more ideas percolating. Stay tuned!

Plurk!

I’ve become addicted to Plurk.

I’m loving that it’s especially handy when I can’t get in-world (ugh for laptops), and for when I’m at work! Meeting new people, sharing SL in delicious microblogginess; The workday seriously just FLIES by.

Besides Plurk, I did want to share something further with you: I’ve been invited to participate in a couple of grid-wide hunts!

Deco*licious is on the bill for both Go Fly a Kite and Gone Fishin’.

Gone Fishin’ Hunt doesn’t start until APRIL 1rst, but

I’ve set up the 7seas fishing system!! Fishing is a hell of a lot more fun than I thought it could ever be. I’m decidedly hooked. (oh punny. I totally stole that from a friend on Plurk.)

You need a pole in order to fish for prizes in the Gone Fishing hunt, but you can pick one up easily from my mainstore, or from any other vendor.

I’m pretty sure you could get away with buying several demo poles at 1$L, but I promise you, you will get your money’s worth of fun from either the 100$L basic pole, or the 250$L pro pole.

Grid-Wide Hunts

Are THE thing to do… right? RIGHT. I think.

Anyway… April Loire of Coull Creations is putting on a grid-wide fishing hunt! Sounds like fun, so I’m in!

Participating store-owners must have access to a 7-seas fishing system, and hunters get to fish for prezzies all over the grid! I’m going to have to figure out how these things actually work. lol! I see them all over but have never tried my hand. I figure I poke myself with the lure in RL, why would SL be any different, but.. DUH.

So yeah, if you come by Deco*licious I should have a fishing system up and running at the pond in no-time.  :)

So my good friend, HeatherBronwen Hollwood kindly hooked me up with a stellar logo, and I figured I better put it up here before she kicks my ass. I’ve known Heather (or ‘Hollywood’, as I call her) since my dancing days at the Booby Hatch. She was the fun and hilarious boss everyone wants to boast about. Let’s not call her a ‘boss’ she wouldn’t like that anyway; we’ll go with ‘friend’.

Anyway, she’s f’n awesome in PS (photoshop) and I just had to rope her in to put together a little something for me, and I think she did a really good job! She also did the work for fukmi clothing and more. She’s a beautiful graphic artist. Check out their blog to see what I’m talking about.

okay! so I’m going to be setting up a flickr account today, so hopefully you’ll be able to check out some pictures of my stuff!

Woo hoo! I have a blog!

Thanks to Juicy Littlething from iheartsl.com for all her help and encouragement!

It seems like I’ve been working on Deco*licious forever, but it’s only been a week! I’ve set up two store locations, an slx listing, (I refuse to call it ‘xstreetsl’ unless I absolutely have to), a ad on sluniverse.com, a listing with Secondlife Yellow pages, some ad spaces in-world, fought with temp-rezzer vendors which have been thrown out the window from the 23rd floor, I’m pretty sure my cats hate me, (no one likes to be ignored), not to mention my partner. Who, by the way, has been very supportive, even when he frustrates the hell out of me. Can I say that? yes, it’s my blog. Much thanks to him AND the cats for putting up with me.

yeehee! Oh, and my to-do list is about a mile long. But if one person buys one thing and is hella happy with it? It’ll all be worth it. Cuz I like what I do, I like the things I make, and I hope you do too.

I’m still working on the blog, (my first, g’head and pop my bloggin cherry), but check the tabs and see what’s out there!
